Instead, a specific topic is selected.

• relationship with the mother or father;
• partnership;
• family conflict;
• fear;
• money;
• work;
• a recurring life pattern.

The question or intention effectively determines which part of the morphogenetic field will be explored.

Constellation as a Representation of the Field

The selected elements of a constellation are physically represented by people, objects, figurines, sheets of paper, or other markers.

For example, a constellation may include:

Me – Mother – Father – Partner – Fear.

These elements are not themselves morphogens or the morphogenetic field itself.

They function as representatives of the informational structure being explored.

In this way, a small part of a very large information system is transferred into a simple spatial model that can be observed.

What Is Being Read During a Constellation?

According to our theoretical model, a constellation may reveal not only individual informational nodes, but also the informational threads connecting them.

For example, a problem in a person’s relationship with their father may not be connected only with the father himself.

It may be part of a broader structure:

Grandfather ↔ Father ↔ Me ↔ Freedom

or:

Mother ↔ Father ↔ Conflict ↔ Child.

Therefore, during a constellation, we do not observe only separate elements.

We observe their entire relational configuration.

How Can Information Manifest?

According to our model, a representative may become resonantly connected with the informational structure of the morphogenetic field that they represent.

Part of the information may then manifest through:

• bodily sensations;
• emotions;
• spontaneous associations;
• an urge to move closer or farther away;
• direction of gaze;
• impulses to move;
• the relationship with other elements of the constellation.

In this sense, the human body and consciousness become a kind of information indicator within the constellation.

Morphogenetic field structure → resonance → representative → sensation, emotion, movement, or perception.

In our theoretical model, we call this the reading of the morphogenetic field.

Why Is Intention Important?

A morphogenetic field may contain an enormous amount of interconnected information.

For this reason, it is very important to define the question clearly at the beginning of a constellation.

Intention acts as an informational filter.

It determines which part of the morphogenetic field the constellation system seeks to resonantly align with.

The clearer the question, the more specific the informational structure that can be explored.

First Comes the Reading

It is important to distinguish between two processes:

reading the field and interacting with the field.

The first purpose of a constellation is to see the existing structure.

Where are the main informational nodes?

Which threads connect them?

Where is the connection strong?

Where is it broken?

Where does a recurring structure exist?

Only once the structure becomes visible can conscious interaction with it begin.

Interaction with the Morphogenetic Field

During a constellation, the positions of representatives may be changed, additional elements may be introduced, words may be spoken, or symbolic actions may be performed.

In our theoretical model, such actions are not merely theatrical representations.

They may change a person’s resonant relationship with the morphogenetic field structure being explored.

This may involve the emergence of a new relationship with the information, the weakening or strengthening of certain threads, or the formation of new connections.

However, the most important goal of a constellation is not to “force the field to change.”

The primary goal is to perceive its existing structure as accurately as possible and allow human consciousness to interact with it.

Constellation as a Model of an Information System

A constellation can be imagined as a small window into a much larger information system.

The complete human morphogenetic field may be vast.

At a particular moment, however, only a very small part of it may be relevant to us.

A constellation allows us to isolate, represent, and observe that part.
